Dr. Shiu treated me for severe pain and losing mobility in my left shoulder. We discussed my options and decided total joint replacement was the best solution. That was five months ago and I am extremely pleased with my surgical outcome. I have almost complete use of my shoulder again with absolutely no pain. I literally shattered an elbow during Covid and it ended up in pieces. Prognosis was terrible. Was connected with Dr. Shiu. He was an excellent Dr. with a staff that was equally exceptional. He provided next level care removing over 30 flecks of bone that entered my joint and conducted an additional surgery to remove a dissolving stitch that didn't break down due to it's location. I am not getting paid for this 5 Star recommendation.Dr. Shiu performed rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. Between Dr, Shiu and Dr, Wolf the Anesthesiologist, I did not have any pain in my shoulder after the surgery. My friends who had the same surgery told me I would be in extreme pain, and would need a recliner to sleep in. I had no pain, and I was sleeping on the sofa on my right side the first night, and sleeping on my back the second night. I never had to take any pain medication since there was no pain. Dr Brian Shiu and his PA Brent Getlan were very good. Dr Shiu is a skilled orthopedist whom I saw 2019 for non-operative left subacromial bursitis and for about six months in 2022 for right shoulder trauma with fracture and partial tears of rotator-cuff tendons.
