Dr. Patrick Kelly is an orthopaedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in adult total joint reconstruction, specializing in the treatment of hip and knee arthritis and hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Kelly completed his fellowship in Adult Total Joint Reconstruction at the Anderson Clinic in Alexandria, Virginia. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a four-year member of the varsity men’s lacrosse team and captain of UNC’s 2016 NCAA Division I National Championship team.
Dr. Kelly has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and national research presentations focused on hip and knee replacement, including total hip arthroplasty, implant positioning, postoperative outcomes, joint infection, and other areas of adult reconstruction. His work has been presented at national orthopaedic meetings and published in journals including The Journal of Arthroplasty, Hip & Pelvis, and International Orthopaedics.
His accomplishments include receiving the Thomas E. Gillespie, M.D. Award for Excellence in Orthopaedics and recognition as a USILA All-American and Scholar All-American. Before beginning his orthopaedic training, Dr. Kelly also played professional lacrosse and was a member of the 2017 Major League Lacrosse champion Ohio Machine.
