Dr. David Schroder is one of our well-established hip and knee specialists. He is a clinical assistant professor with the University of Maryland, participating in orthopaedic resident teaching.
Dr. Schroder’s interests include arthroplasty of the hip and knee. This includes partial knee arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty, direct anterior hip replacement, and robotic-assisted total knee replacements. He championed the introduction of robotic technology at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Nonarthoplasty treatment includes cartilage and meniscal injuries of the knee, hip arthroscopy for impingement, and abductor tears of the hip.
Dr. Schroder completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Orthopaedics at Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell Medical Center in 2008–2009.
A graduate of the US Naval Academy and Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Schroder trained in orthopaedic surgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
He was staff surgeon in Yokosuka, Japan and Deputy Department Head of Orthopaedics at the National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Serving as Commander in the US Navy, Dr. Schroder provided surgical care to our wounded warriors both at home and in Afghanistan as well as executive care for our nation’s leaders of the Pentagon, Congress, and the White House.
He focuses on technology in an effort to deliver compassionate and efficient care. Dr Schroder has been voted a Top Doctor by Baltimore Magazine annually, since 2022.
